International visitor trips to Georgia fell 4.5% in Q2
Georgia recorded about 1.5 million visits by international visitors in Q2 2026, down 4.5% year-on-year. Tourist-type visits fell 2.7%, while total visitor spending declined 13.3% to about GEL 3 billion.
01 · What changed
Tbilisi and Adjara remained the most visited destinations, with roughly 875,500 and 621,300 visits respectively. Average spending per visit also declined, showing that visitor volume and visitor value can move differently.
02 · Investment impact
This matters most for short-term-rental and hospitality-linked property, especially in Batumi. National tourism numbers do not predict one apartment’s occupancy, but weaker visits and spending increase the importance of seasonality, building competition, management quality and realistic nightly rates.
